Dixon's Gunmakers Fair
[ Friday July 26th, Saturday July 27th, & Sunday July 28, 2013 ]
9:00am - 5:00pm Daily



  • Barrel Forging; Gun Maker Displays, Rifles Lock Stock, Barrel and Furniture Makers; Horn and Leather Workers; Gun Flint Knapping; Engraving.
  • Seminars on Gun Making Craft Subjects; General Building Skills (will vary from year to year), Restoration, SeIecting Wood, Flint Lock Tuning, Design and Creation, Rifle Architecture, Blueing and Browning, Patch Box.
  • Original Type Rifling Machines at Work.
  • Junior Work Shops in Horn and Leather.
  • For the women there will be demonstrations and seminars on Colonial Lifestyles.

DEADLINE Information

Registration:  Entries for judging will be accepted beginning @ 2:00pm Friday July 26th

Deadline: Entries will be closed at 2:00pm Saturday July 27th


Accoutrements entered for judging must be related to the peroid, ie: Bullet Molds, bags, horns, measures, knives. All items must be handmade and entered by the maker.

Guns and Accoutrements entered must remain until 2:00 P.M. July 28th
to receive any awards
Apprentice - First Gun or One not Having won a Ribbon.



Journeyman - First Gun or a Prior Winner in Apprentice.

  Master - Open Class or a Prior Winner in above categories.
Professional Builders, No preturned stocks. All work done by entrant.
Categories: Basic Craftsmanship and Conformation, First Gun Best of Show.   Categories: Pistol, Engraving, Carving, Basic Craftsmanship and Conformation.   Categories: Pistol, Engraving Raised and Incise Carving, Patchbox.
